Our Vision

To come alongside local churches and denominational leaders, assisting and equipping them in ministering to their widowed.

  • For the local church: the widowed within their church and community.

  • For the denominational leaders: their widowed ministry credential holders.

Our aim in this two-fold ministry is to build a supportive community for the widowed that will help ease their grief, restore their hope, and connect them with others walking the same path.

Too many have become the Forgotten Ones.

On a Local Level

All those who are widowed lose a great deal when their spouse dies. With the loss of a spouse, there is a danger of losing one’s friends, support systems, income, insurance, home, and so much more. Many even become estranged from family members, leaving them to fend for themselves. Some even feel abandoned by God, their family, and friends.

Have you ever wondered what happens to a widowed pastor or their spouse?

At the District Level

What do you do with a widowed minister or spouse?

If the widowed happens to be a male, he can continue pastoring. However, if the widowed is a woman, her loss is much greater.

For years she has worked alongside her husband: being his support, helpmate, and confidant. She was there for weddings, births, graduations and funerals. For many, the congregation became their family. If the wife becomes widowed, and she is not serving as the pastor, her life can change drastically and quickly.

For this widow the loss is so much greater and there is a danger of her losing her purpose in life. When it’s all said and done she can lose everything including her identity.  Too many become the Forgotten Ones!

While our lives are lived in seasons, the Call of God is not revoked. It takes time to walk through grief and healing, but PURPOSE and HOPE remain! Jeremiah 29:11 still holds true for the widowed.

God still has plans which are filled with HOPE and a FUTURE!

“He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds … giving them HOPE for the future.”
Psalm 147:3 ~ Jeremiah 29:11b
