Hope for the Widowed Events

Whether your ministry is geared toward the widowed within your church or community, or is focused on the widows and widowers of credential holders, hosting an event serves as a great way to foster connection. The best way to build community is around a table. How often do we find Jesus eating with others? Depending on your budget, you may wish to host a luncheon, banquet, or even a retreat.

Hosting a retreat creates a beautiful way to reconnect with old friends and make new ones. The location and duration can vary depending on your budget.

Perhaps your district could promote a scholarship program to help cover the costs, including registration for your widowed credential holders. Many churches and individuals would love the opportunity to give toward this.

A luncheon / banquet for widows needs to be sensitive to both younger and older women who have lost their husbands. The host must be sensitive to how recently the losses occurred.
